I have to tell you, lying down when you are tired, but you aren’t “allowed” to sleep is not a good plan. It just seems to make you more tired.

Also, The Kittanz are in “follow” mode and went upstairs when I went up and now I’m back downstairs they are sat enjoying the view out of the patio window.

So it’s 3 hours to go - and 6 more entries (come on hands, you can do it!)

Tim and myself are obviously keeping each other company and went from discussing pigeons, to washing lines and now are are on to the joys of swingball. It’s a game I remember loving - and I think I was present when someon hit the ball so hard it left it’s tether and hurtled across the garden!

I’m sure it’s potentially quite a dangerous game, considering the speed that the ball can get up to, and the fact that people are waving bats around much closer to each other’s faces than normal. But so can a lot of other toys have this potential - much like the Moon Hopper I had when I was about 10, the rollerskates that I never mastered and came close to breaking bones in falls caused by them. The thing is, a lot of things can be dangerous can’t they? It’s a case of teaching someone how to understand what the danger is and work out how to avoid putting themselves in danger. I few scrapes and scuffs are part of growing up - and besides, it’s more fun playing swingball than sitting in front of the tv all day…

There’s nothing like a good pair of scarred knees to demonstrate the right kind of childhood and a proper upbringing. Kids are smart enough to work out (most of the time) what’s likely to get them crocked.
As the Wee Book of Calvin says:
Let the laddie play wi the knife
    He’ll learn.

I have a lot of scars thanks to those fisher price roller skates..I was a very clumsy child! I agree that it’s all part of growing up and knowing you had a lot of fun instead of sitting indoors infront of the tv.
Good work on keeping going :D

    You’re up early Debbie!

(stupid time stamps are four hours ahead of what they should be again…)

I used to be unstoppable at swingball… I haven’t played in about a year though.

Every year my mate Adam gets everyone round to his house for a mass barbecue, and he sets up a stage for music and that, but the real action is watching me demolish all comers at swingball.

I am where it is at.

Hmm… Adam’s next barbecue should be next month actually. I’ll have to get in training!
